Mit 14 schworen sich die Schulfreunde Steve “Lips” Kudlow und Robb Reiner aus Toronto für immer zusammen zu rocken. Mit ihrer Band Anvil wurden sie zu Halbgöttern des kanadischen Metal und veröffentlichten 1982 eines der härtesten Albums in der Metal-Geschichte: "Metal on Metal ". Das Album beeinflusste eine ganze Generation von Musikern, darunter Metallica, Slayer und Anthrax. Nur Anvil selbst wurden nie zu Megastars, sondern verschwanden schnell in der Bedeutungslosigkeit.
